his pebble hails from the rich Mother Lode mines.
I call it 'blue quartz' because the base rock itself has a pale, blueish cast to it; however, every color of the rainbow is present. Iron staining and rusty patina crusts are evident as well. If you are the kind of collector who appreciates variety, this rock fills the bill. A great deal of gold shows though 'all that glitter is not gold'. Also visible are greyish-silver zones of pyrite. Specimen looks like many sulphide specimens I have seen the difference being that this piece hosts (and shows) visible gold.
All my specimens show visible gold and are
rare,
authentic
gold quartz specimens.
I don't sell low grade ores. I sell authentic, naturally-occurring gold quartz with visible gold. These high-grade beauties are hard to find and expensive to obtain.

I poured through old mining dumps for years looking at orange-yellow-rusty rock through a loupe, but I never found a piece with visible gold.
Hydrothermal solutions carrying gold and silica crystallized into veins of gold quartz. This specimen comes from one of the many vein systems existing in the state of California.

NOWHERE, ARIZONA
M
y first three summers of prospecting were spent camped in a deep canyon
several miles below Nowhere, Arizona. Now this was some serious 'shaketail' country. To find sanctuary in the summer's heat, one had to take advantage of shady hackberry and cottonwood trees. Not so long ago, an old
dredging buddy of mine from Trinity River days told me he visited
my old stomping grounds on the Hassayampa River. Story was that while
waving a detector across the front of a high terrace,
'whammo', he picked up a 1.75 oz nugget. It was indeed a nice piece of gold.
While I had no way of disproving his claim, it seemed an improbable find.
Other guys I had known who worked that area
plumb starved out. No other prospectors I knew or heard of had ever come close to finding something that grand, but still...stuff happens and, when it does, who knows why or to whom? M
y biggest nugget found during three brutally-hot seasons of hard labor weighed ten grains, less than half a pennyweight.
The guff I put up with from the claim-holder on which it was found proved intolerable, but aside from our personal rancor, the prospecting itself was most educational especially for an old country boy who had always loved living in the outdoors.
Thanks for checking out our digs.
