    Description

If you think this looks awful you should have seen the enemy they pulled it out of. Hand made fighting knife of some vintage; may be as old as WWII and I doubt could be later than Vietnam. Strikes me as very vicious and extremely deadly. Note in particular the V-notches high up on the handle, that would be for tying a leather thong onto it and the other end to your wrist. When it gets down to that you know things are really rough and glad I was not there. The steel is high grade and although the tip not ground to a point, the edges are sharp and would likely hold whatever edge you wanted to put on it. Cosmetically a mess. The blade has a number of light scratches running the long way, no bad ones. The handle is wood, the green and black tabs are reflective tape and then painted over olive drab or OD green. I don't know why those tabs are there, maybe to find it quick or mark of ownership. Triple rivet. Thin hilt is copper and was only soldered tight. it is a little loose but not really any great reason to mess with it.
Stand it on end and measures 10" tall. Hilt to end of handle about 3 3/4". I am selling this as a collector's item so I hope this is not greatly relevant but it was not made for someone with a big hand, just an average one.
Unique piece, wish I knew the history, previous owner was a collector and probably didn't know either. But for as drab as it looks I get a feeling of intensity each time I look at it.
