Description
This early 1900s token is from the Piqua National Bank located on High Street in Piqua, Ohio. The obverse has a detailed image of the bank building, and the reverse has wording indicating that this was a 'good for' token - this token could be redeemed for 25¢ if a new savings account of at least .00 was opened. This token was produced with a proof strike and has very bright, very reflective surfaces. The diameter is approximately 32 mm (1-1/4"), the edge is reeded (milled), and the composition is brass. This token was produced with a very bright gilt surface treatment that almost totally remains on both sides, providing a good gold color.
This token is in extremely fine condition, with very light actual wear, signs of handling, and toning, and it is very bright.
The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description. NOTE: Reflections made photography difficult. The actual token is much lighter in color (with a very good gold color), is much brighter, and is much more attractive than in the photos.
