This is a piece of gold ore from Lincoln mountain in Colorado. The matrix is white quartz, which gives the specimen a very nice shine. The white quartz contrasts wonderfully with the metals present.
In addition to gold, there is also silver and copper in this specimens mineral assemblage.
Lincoln mountain is a classic 14er in Colorado. This specimen was mined by an old time miner. This is the exact type of sample that miners look for in order to strike it rich. A chance to own a unique piece of history from the rugged Colorado alpine.
