This piece is quite old- marked simply Germany which would date it prior to 1918. . Marked Alpaca on the inside. This works well, the hinge and closure are still tight. This was my Mother's, given to her by an Aunt and my Mom, the only person in her family to go to church on Sunday with devotion, carried her offering in it- it will hold dimes and nickels and she told me she used to tithe 25 or 30 cents a week. I have a lot of beautiful things from her and I'd like this to go to someone who can appreciate the story that goes along with it and who appreciates her faith. It measures approx 1"- (a little less actually). The scene depicted on the front is Mary's Assumption into Heaven and there are two tiny cherubim above her in the clouds. Just gorgeous!

I have a lot of beautiful things from her and I'd like this to go to someone who can appreciate the story that goes along with it and who appreciates her faith. It measures approx 1"- (a little less actually). My Mom was born in 1923 so I think this piece was old when the Aunt gave it to her.
