In the days of its glory the Yankee Fork gold dredge looked like a well lighted four story hotel, lost in the mountain. However, it was no match for the grandeur and beauty of the surrounding country. The dredge is built on 25 pontoons and floats in a self dug pond of water. The hull is 112 feet, 6 inches long and 54 feet wide with a 105 foot stacker jutting up and out behind. The bucket line is made up of 71 bucket weighing over a ton apiece revolving around a supporting device called a ladder, sufficient to dig 37 feet below the waterline into the bedrock where the better values lie.
