*BATTLESHIP* 1918 Philadelphia FRBN PMG Very Fine 35EPQ* STAR DESIGNATION C2CDon't fall for "High Grade," "Superb Grade," "Awesome Grade" uncertified notes being offered online. Most of the time, there is a reason why they are not in a third-party grading company holder. Think about it. It's a multi-million dollar epidemic. Avoid being taken advantage of! Message me for details.
Here is a super nice 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note (also known as the "Battleship") from the Philadelphia district with the blue seal and signature combinations of Elliott-Burke and Dyer-Norris. The Friedberg number is Fr. 756.
This is a very attractive, original and problem-free example with just a few light folds and that is about it. It is tough to find a Battleship in a nice certified grade like this.
This note was assigned the grade of Choice Very Fine (VF) 35EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) by PMG with their neat "Star Designation" -- something relatively new (introduced in 2014) that distinguishes this note as an outstanding VF35EPQ, with superior eye appeal, in their opinion, which obviously matters. Check out the PMG web site for details on this feature of their grading practices:

Keep in mind, this note is not a
star note
, or replacement note. It is a regular-issued non-star note, but was awarded the little star logo to the right of the numeric grade on the holder due to its sweet condition. PMG should have used another shape if you ask me -- confusing. Like a heart, moon or a spade, but I guess those would be lame.
The best part of this note's grade is the "EPQ" that was awarded by PMG. For those of you out there just starting out in the hobby, its a great idea to look for original, exceptional paper quality when shopping for notes. Greedy dealers of today and yester-year have dreamt up a number of ways to "improve" a note's appearance to unsuspecting and untrained eyes in an attempt to maximize profits (pressing, chemically treating, etc.). The sad thing about this is that such deceitful and unnatural tactics ruin a note's originality forever. I am proud to say that this note has not fallen victim (yet) to these tactics, as evidenced by the "EPQ" on the holder.
I have a full-blown, no-questions-asked return policy, so feel free to buy the note with the expectation that it can be returned if you are not satisfied. I will even pay for your return shipping. But I have a feeling that you won't want to return it once you have it in your hand.
I will be listing over 200 notes over the next couple of months (I am downsizing my collection some) so be sure to check back with me, or better yet, add me to your favorite sellers list. I just received back several hundred notes from PMG and there is a lot of exciting, rare, high-grade stuff in these stacks. Almost my entire collection is decent, quality material. I have worked hard on developing my "eye" for original, problem-free notes over the years and have been cherry picking shops and shows for over a decade.
Thanks! Please email me with any questions. I will be highly responsive to all inquiries.
